RCHF donates $50,000 to local non-profits

The Realtor-Community Housing Foundation (RCHF) has donated $50,000 to local non-profits in the Bluegrass community.  Lexington Habitat for Humanity received a $25,000 donation.  $20,000 of the donation is for continued support of their Love Your Neighborhood program which focuses on revitalization in low-income neighborhoods through owner-occupied home repairs. The other $5,000 is for the Hands and Hearts homebuyer project specifically for support of the Women Build component. REACH, Inc. received a $25,000 donation for emergency repairs for existing homes for low to moderate income families, disabled or elderly homeowners in the 22 county jurisdiction of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR).  Allowed repairs for this program are considered to be immediate repairs to essential systems of the house that enables the homeowner to continue to reside in the home. Both organizations align with the Realtor-Community Housing Foundation’s goal to empower families and strengthen neighborhoods by assisting homeowners in need to be able to stay in their homes.  In 2016, RCHF donated a total of $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity and REACH.

RCHF is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization incorporated in 1992 established by the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors® (LBAR). RCHF's goal is to empower families and strengthen neighborhoods by assisting homeowners in need to be able to stay in their homes.
