Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Anderson County economy as of June 30, 2010 with 127 reported sales totaling $15,468,897. Sales continue to be a driving force in the Anderson County economy when considering the multiplier effect on the area of buyers and sellers who purchase appliances, carpet, flooring, landscaping, etc in response to their transaction needs.

Residential single family sales increased 25 percent during the year-to-date 2010 (127 units sold) vs. the year-to-date 2009 (102 units sold). Average days on market fell 6 percent to 101 days, and the median sales price increased an impressive 15 percent for the same time period.

Anderson County median sales price also increased during June 2010 when compared to June 2009, increasing 20 percent from $110,750 in 2009 to $133,000 in 2010. Months of inventory fell 10 percent in Anderson County to 10.4 months. This decrease is a positive indicator; a balanced market should contain 5-6 months of inventory.
