LBAR announces $1.6 million in Nicholas County real estate sales as of June 30, 2010

Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Nicholas County economy as of June 30, 2010 with 18 reported sales totaling $1,583,180. Sales continue to be a driving force in the Nicholas County economy when considering the multiplier effect on the area of buyers and sellers who purchase appliances, carpet, flooring, landscaping, etc in response to their transaction needs.

Single family residential sales increased 50 percent from 12 to 18 sales reported for the year-to-date 2010 when compared to the year-to-date 2009. The median sales price rose 32 percent during the year-to-date 2010 ($72,000) when compared to the year-to-date 2009 ($54,700). Sales also increased in June 2010 vs. June 2009, increasing 25 percent from 4 sales reported to 5 in June 2010.
