LBAR announces $20.9 million in Scott County real estate sales for the 1st Quarter 2010

Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Scott County economy in the first quarter of 2010 with 126 reported sales totaling $20,914,912. Sales continue to be a driving force in the Scott County economy when considering the multiplier effect on the area of buyers and sellers who purchase appliances, carpet, flooring, landscaping, etc in response to their transaction needs.

Residential sales in Scott County increased 2% during the 1st quarter 2010 (126 units sold) when compared to the year-to-date 2009 (124 units sold). The median sales price increased 3% during the same time period to $145,775. Pending sales increased 4.8% over March 2009; the 82 reported pending sales for March 2010 mark the highest figure since March 2007.
