LBAR announces $4.8 million in Montgomery County real estate sales for the 1st Quarter 2010

Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Montgomery County economy in the first quarter of 2010 with 43 reported sales totaling $4,835,150. Sales continue to be a driving force in the Montgomery County economy when considering the multiplier effect on the area of buyers and sellers who purchase appliances, carpet, flooring, landscaping, etc in response to their transaction needs.
During March 2010 vs. March 2009, the median sales price increased 23% to $98,750. Average days on market fell 33% to 103 days in the same time period. Median sales prices in Montgomery County increased 16% during the year-to-date 2010 vs. the year-to-date 2009. Sales increased 5% during the same time period.
