LBAR continues book donations in Franklin County
Mar 4th, 10
On March 1st and 2nd, REALTORS® representing the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) visited Bridgeport, Collins Lane, Elkhorn, Frankfort Christian, Hearn and Peaks Mill Elementary Schools and presented character-building children’s books.
Each school received Enemy Pie by award-winning author Derek Munson. In its second year, Melissa Poynter, the chair of the LBAR Community Education Task Force, has continued to lead this project. Franklin County REALTORS® in attendance were Mike Barnes, Stacy Collins, Don Noble, Kyra Quarles and Bruce Rankin. The Early Learning Village, Capital Day and Westridge Elementary schools will also receive the book.
This contribution to Franklin County is the first part of a larger donation to the elementary schools in the Bluegrass region—LBAR will be presenting the book to 110 elementary schools in the region. The project is part of LBAR’s goal to become involved with the area’s school systems in innovative ways that will positively shape the future of our community’s children.
As the region’s leading advocate for homeownership, Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® understands the value and joy of owning a home. LBAR represents more than 2,300 REALTORS® located in Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford Counties.
