March 25th, 2010

On March 23rd and 24th, REALTORS® representing the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) visited Anne Mason, Eastern, Garth, Northern, St. John, Stamping Ground, Southern, and Western Elementary Schools and presented character-building children’s books.

Each school received Enemy Pie by award-winning author Derek Munson. In its second year, Melissa Poynter, the chair of the LBAR Community Education Task Force, has continued to lead this project. Scott County REALTORS® in attendance were Barb Curtis Judy Giannasio, Jeffrey Green, Frank Mason, Kim Northington, Jane Trent and Missy Winchell.

This contribution to Scott County is the first part of a larger donation to the elementary schools in the Bluegrass region—LBAR will be presenting the book to 115 elementary schools in the region. The project is part of LBAR’s goal to become involved with the area’s school systems in innovative ways that will positively shape the future of our community’s children.

As the region’s leading advocate for homeownership, Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® understands the value and joy of owning a home. LBAR represents more than 2,100 REALTORS® located in Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford Counties.
