LBAR continues book presentations to area elementary schools in Powell County

On January 5th, 2011, REALTORS® representing the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) visited Powell County elementary schools including Bowen and Stanton Elementary and presented a character-building children’s book.
Each school received How the Moon Regained her Shape by award-winning author Janet Ruth Heller. In its third year, Melissa Poynter, the chair of the LBAR Community Education Task Force, has continued to lead this project.
This contribution to Powell County is the first part of a larger donation to the public and private elementary schools in the Bluegrass region—LBAR will be presenting the book to 110 elementary schools in the region. The project is part of LBAR’s goal to become involved with the area’s school systems in innovative ways that will positively shape the future of our community’s children.
