On October 19th, REALTORS® representing the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) visited the Anderson County Early Childhood Center, Emma B. Ward, Robert B. Turner and Saffell Street Elementary Schools and presented character-building children’s books to the Anderson County Public School System.

Each school received Enemy Pie by award-winning author Derek Munson. In its second year, Melissa Poynter, the chair of the LBAR Community Education Task Force, has continued to lead this project. REALTOR ® Adam Burton read the book to the children. Other Anderson County REALTORS® in attendance were Autumn Boblitt, Mark Crutcher, Melinda Earlywine, Shay Hanson and Jackie Nichols.

This contribution to Anderson County is the first part of a larger donation to the elementary schools in the Bluegrass region—LBAR will be presenting the book to 103 elementary schools in the region. The project is part of LBAR’s goal to become involved with the area’s school systems in innovative ways that will positively shape the future of our community’s children.

As the region’s leading advocate for homeownership, Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® understands the value and joy of owning a home. LBAR represents more than 2,300 REALTORS® located in Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford Counties.
