On April 28th, REALTORS® representing the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) visited Hattie Warner, Nicholasville, Rosenwald-Dunbar and Wilmore Elementary schools as well as the Jessamine Early Learning Village and The Providence School in Jessamine County.
Each school received a set of 11 titles by award-winning author Max Lucado. LBAR REALTOR® David Oatts read A Hat for Ivan by Lucado to children at Hattie Warner Elementary. LBAR Community Education Task Force Chair Melissa Poynter and LBAR Board Member Linda Wiley along with REALTORS® Dan Poynter and Maggie Taylor wore hats representing different career choices to bring the story in A Hat for Ivan to life.
This contribution is part of a larger donation to the elementary schools in the Bluegrass region—LBAR will be giving more than 1,000 books to 99 elementary schools in the area. The project is part of a goal of LBAR to become involved with the school systems in innovative ways that will positively shape the future of our community’s children.
As the region’s leading advocate for homeownership, Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® understands the value and joy of owning a home. LBAR represents more than 2,400 REALTORS® located in Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
