Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Fayette County economy in third quarter of 2017 with 4,169 reported sales totaling $965,056,266. Sales continue to be a driving force in Fayette County economy.
Residential sales decreased two percent from 4,255 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2016 to 4,169 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2017. The median sales price increased eight percent from $174,000 in third quarter of the year 2016 to $187,900 in third quarter of the year in 2017. The average days on the market decreased 20 percent from 41 days in third quarter of the year 2016 to 33 days in third quarter of the year 2017.
Residential sales in Fayette County decreased 13 percent from September 2016 with 454 sales compared to 393 sales in September 2017. Pending sales decreased from 430 in September 2016 to 392 pending sales reported in September 2017. The median sales price had increased from $170,450 in September 2016 to $181,842 in September 2017. New listings decreased 16 percent from 582 new listings in September 2016 to 487 new listings in September 2017.
