Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR) positively impacted the Laurel County economy in first quarter 2018 with 77 reported sales totaling $10,835,460. Sales continue to be a driving force in Laurel County economy.
Residential sales decreased five percent from 81 sales reported in first quarter 2017 to 77 sales reported in first quarter 2018. The median sales price increased seven percent from $120,000 in first quarter 2017 to $128,000 in first quarter in 2018. The average days on the market decreased 24 percent from 114 days in first quarter 2017 to 87 days in first quarter 2018.
Residential sales in Laurel County increased 14 percent from March 2017 with 29 sales compared to 33 sales in March 2018. Pending sales decreased from 38 in March 2017 to 29 pending sales reported in March 2018. The median sales price had increased from $124,500 in March 2017 to $132,000 in March 2018. New listings decreased 13 percent from 61 new listings in March 2017 to 53 new listings in March 2018.
